Isaiah Thomas, known as "Minister Zay" or "HMBL Zay," is a testament to the power of resilience in the face of adversity. Growing up in the tough streets of North Philadelphia, he confronted daunting challenges like gun violence, poverty, and crime. Yet, through unwavering determination and perseverance, he found a way to transcend his environment. His story serves as a beacon of hope, illustrating that with resilience and grit, one can defy the odds and carve out a path to success, no matter the circumstances.

Isaiah Thomas spent his formative years in the Nicetown section of North Philadelphia, where he witnessed firsthand the harsh realities of violence and poverty. At just 13 years old, he found himself ensnared by the justice system, facing his first gun charge as a result of associating with the wrong crowd. However, his time behind bars became a turning point, prompting deep reflection. It was during this period that Thomas came to the realization that the path he was on was not the one he wanted for himself.

Motivated by Martin Luther King and Malcom X, Zay knew he wanted to make a difference, and his message has always been to save the youth from making the same mistakes he made as a kid, or worst.

Before starting his clothing brand, his journey to Success began by selling waters at the art museum. with his brand in the back of his mind, hustling every single day encouraging people to buy waters to create revenue was mandatory. Most people thought Zay was crazy but he knew it was just a  step into the right direction to fund his brand.

“Building & Learning the Brand”

Navigating the learning curve is often the toughest part. After dropping out of college, Zay went all in on his clothing brand. Managing to acquire a heat presser and over 200 hoodies, he devoted most of his time to creating his own designs until he could afford to invest in manufacturers overseas. Knowing that he couldn't expand his brand if he continued to handle everything himself, he took the time to study his business and learn from successful brands in the clothing industry such as Nike, Virgil, and Yeezy. At the point the Hard work is finally starting to pay off. Stay Humble Stay Hungry Clothing  was recognized by the City of Philadelphia and was awarded an astounding $75,000 check from CBS News for his hard work and the impact he created.
